The ATAC (ARIMIDEX, Tamoxifen Alone or in Combination) trial was one of the largest adjuvant breast cancer treatment studies of postmenopausal women with early breast cancer.

This clinical trial compared adjuvant treatment with ARIMIDEX to treatment with the antiestrogen medication tamoxifen, either alone or in combination. The ATAC trial showed that ARIMIDEX, given alone, significantly reduced the risk of breast cancer coming back, when compared with tamoxifen.
